Privacy Policy

Protecting your privacy is our priority. This Privacy Policy describes how Eek! Games, LLC (“Eek! Games”, “we”, “us”, or “our”) collects, uses, stores, shares, and protects your information when you use our games, websites, and services. This policy explains our data practices; where consent is required for a particular use, we request it separately.

Scope

This Privacy Policy applies to all Eek! Games, LLC websites and services, including all subdomains of eekgames.com, eekllc.com, housepartygame.com, officepartygame.com, and eekllc.com, unless otherwise stated. Our Shopify store (shopify.eekgames.com) is governed by its own privacy policy.

Information We Collect

Account Information: Username, email address, and password (hashed). We do not collect your name, birthdate, birth year, gender, or other demographic information.
Age Verification: We verify your age at registration by requesting your birthdate for the sole purpose of confirming eligibility. We do not store your birthdate or birth year after verification.
Forum: Username and email address (forum.eekgames.com only; age is verified but not stored).
Shared Content: Stories, character designs, appearance presets, decals, tattoos, posts and other content you submit, along with descriptions, tags, source references, compatibility information and creator-credit preferences.
Private Cloud Backups: Editable project files you choose to back up, project/snapshot identifiers, sizes and the metadata needed to list, restore and delete them.
Agreement and Publication Records: The terms version your account accepted and when, and the license associated with each public revision. We do not collect an extra IP address or device fingerprint solely to record that acceptance.
Moderation and Backup Operations: Reports, screening results, review decisions and relevant service activity, including backup transfer/usage totals, project and snapshot counts, and account storage policies.
Technical Data: Device, browser, operating system, screen resolution, and similar information.
Usage Data: How you interact with our sites and games, including page/game visits, downloads, and ratings.
Cookies and Tracking: Authentication/session cookies, analytics, and tracking cookies (see “Cookies and Tracking” below).

How We Use Your Information

To create and manage your account and allow you to use our games and websites.
To verify your age and comply with legal requirements (birthdate is used only at registration and is not stored).
To provide customer support and respond to your inquiries.
For analytics and to improve our services, using aggregate/anonymized data wherever possible. No demographic data (such as age, gender, or birth year) is stored or used in analytics.
To detect, prevent, or address fraud, security, or technical issues.
To publish and deliver shared contributions and their required dependencies, preserve compatibility and attribution, and administer the applicable licenses.
To store and restore private backups, diagnose transfer problems, and manage storage usage.
To review public submissions and reports, enforce community rules, and keep records needed to manage permissions and resolve disputes.

Third-Party Services & Data Sharing

We do not sell your personal information. We share limited information with trusted third parties only as necessary to operate our services:

Google Analytics: For website analytics. Google Analytics may use your IP address and cookies to analyze site usage. See Google’s privacy policy.
Gamesight: For game and website analytics and conversion tracking. While we do not collect or store your IP address, Gamesight and similar analytics providers may use your IP address and device information for their analytics. See Gamesight’s privacy policy.
Unity Crash Reporting: To diagnose and fix technical issues in our games. Technical data about your device and session may be collected.
Amazon Web Services (AWS): For hosting, databases and private object storage used by accounts, shared content and private backups.
OpenAI: For automated screening of text and images submitted for community publication. The screening requests contain the material needed for that review; we do not include account credentials or send private backup contents through this public-submission screening process. Material may itself contain information a creator included. See OpenAI's privacy policy and API data controls.
Mailgun: To send newsletters and transactional emails. We provide your email address to Mailgun. See Mailgun’s privacy policy.

We may also share information as required by law, legal process, or to protect our rights and users’ safety.

Cookies and Tracking

We use cookies and similar technologies for:

Authentication and session management
Site and game analytics (Google Analytics, Gamesight)

We use a cookie consent banner to obtain your permission before placing non-essential cookies or enabling tracking. You may change your cookie preferences at any time.

Public Sharing, Private Backups and Retention

Public contributions and visible creator credits can be downloaded by other users. Removing a contribution normally stops discovery and new reuse. We may retain copies and deliver dependencies required by established stories or designs, under the applicable sharing license. Hiding creator credit does not anonymize identifying material embedded in a file or recall previously downloaded copies.

Private cloud backups are separate from public sharing. They are available to the owning account and authorized service operations, subject to our security measures and legal obligations. The moderation usage panel shows storage/activity information rather than private project contents. Private backup contents are not sent through community-publication screening.

You can delete private snapshots using the backup controls. Logical removal is followed by queued storage cleanup; temporary transfer grants and recovery handling can delay physical removal. A snapshot package still referenced by another retained snapshot remains until those references are removed. Temporary uploads and incomplete publication objects are cleaned up under operational retention rules. Service recovery copies and logs may remain until their retention periods expire.

We retain shared-content, attribution, acceptance and moderation records for as long as reasonably needed to deliver established dependencies, manage permissions, investigate abuse or security issues, resolve disputes and meet legal obligations. We retain private backup data while it is needed for the requested backup/recovery service or the deletion process described above. Retention depends on the record's purpose and applicable requirements; hiding credit does not delete these private records.

Account Deletion

You can request account deletion at my.eekgames.com. Account closure, public-content removal and private-backup deletion are separate operations. Before closing an account, use the content and backup controls to remove contributions, hide credit or delete backups you no longer want. If you have already closed the account or need help removing associated data, contact info@eekllc.com.

We handle requests to delete or correct personal information subject to applicable law and any necessary identity verification. Shared dependencies, previously downloaded copies and limited service, security, dispute or legal records may require different handling. Account closure does not guarantee immediate removal or anonymization of every contributed file, public credit or associated service record.

Your Rights and Choices

You may access and update your account information (email) at my.eekgames.com.
You may close your account and request deletion of associated personal information. Use the separate content/backup controls or contact us for assistance, as described above.
You may opt in or out of newsletters; we will only send marketing emails with your explicit consent.
You may adjust cookie and tracking preferences using our cookie banner.
Residents of the EU/EEA/UK, California, and other jurisdictions may have additional rights under local privacy laws (including access, correction, deletion, and data portability).

Children's Privacy

Our services are intended for adults aged 18 or older. We do not knowingly permit accounts for people under 18. If you believe a minor has provided us with personal information, contact us so we can investigate and take appropriate action, including deletion where required.

Security

We take reasonable technical and organizational measures to protect your personal information. However, no internet transmission or storage system can be guaranteed to be 100% secure.

International Data Transfers

Your information is stored in the United States (AWS). If you access our services from outside the US, your information may be transferred to, stored, and processed in the United States.

Do Not Track

We do not currently respond to Do Not Track (DNT) browser signals. We are evaluating support for DNT and may implement it in the future.

Links to Other Sites

Our services may contain links to other websites (including the Shopify store and forum). We are not responsible for the privacy practices or content of these third-party sites.

Changes to This Policy

We may update this policy and communicate significant changes through our websites, account sign-in or email. Relevant privacy updates are shown alongside material terms updates in My Eek. We request separate consent where required for a particular processing activity; acknowledging an updated notice does not by itself grant a community license to private work.
